What a dental CT scan actually shows.
A dental CT scan (sometimes called a CBCT, or cone beam computed tomography) is a 3D X-ray that takes about 20 seconds. It shows: the exact volume and density of bone in your jaw; the position of nerves and the sinus floor, so implants can be placed safely; the state of existing teeth, roots, and any previous dental work; hidden infections, cysts, or anatomical variations that a normal 2D X-ray often misses. For implant treatment, this information is essential. An implant placed without a CT scan is an implant placed partly by guesswork.
Why we offer the CT scan free.
Most patients are nervous about committing to dental implants when they don’t yet know whether the treatment is even possible for them. Charging £200 for the scan needed to find out adds a barrier that pushes people towards either accepting a sub-optimal treatment or, worse, going overseas for cheap treatment that often turns into complex cases we end up rescuing. By offering the scan free, we make sure cost isn’t the reason you don’t get accurate information about your case. You get the scan. You get the assessment. If implants are right, we’ll explain the plan and the price. If they’re not, we’ll tell you that too.

1. You book a free consultation with Dr Andrew Fennell. The scan is part of the consultation appointment, not a separate visit.
2. The CT scan takes about 20 seconds. You stand still, the scanner rotates around your head, and that's it.
3. Andrew reviews the scan with you on-screen. He'll show you what he can see, what's possible, and what isn't.
4. You get a treatment plan and an accurate cost. If you want to go ahead, you do. If you don't, you don't. No commitment. No pressure. No charge for the scan or the consultation.
